In the updated version of Oracle WebCenter Interaction 10gR3 (10.3.0.1, September 2009) Oracle also has fixed the bug with user-friendly urls in a SSO-environment. In Metalink this issue has the number #8535406 ('SSO PORTAL DOES NOT ALLOW PASS-THROUGH TO LINKS').

Oracle WebCenter Interaction 10gR3: PTMenu will not be displayed properly

There is a JavaScript Bug in PTControls.js (/bea/alui/ptimages/imageserver/plumtree/common/private/js/jscontrols/LATEST) if the doctype of the portal page is set to HTML 4.0 Transition. The portlet menus will not be displayed beneath the portlet header, but in the upper left corner of the browser window. To fix this bug you have to add

this.popup.style.top = '' + top + 'px';
}

to the 'PTMenu.prototype.show' method in line 13688.

There is another JavaScript bug in Oracle WebCenter Interaction 10gR3 (\bea\alui\ptimages\imageserver\plumtree\common\private\jsutil\LATEST\ptutil.js). My current version of this file 'ptutils.js' is 334989. You can find the bug in line 116:

WebCenter Interaction Firefox Add-on

On August 27th, 2008, Bill Benac published a very useful Firefox Add-on. With this add-on you can always recognize the portal server the response came from. Especially it is very useful in a clustered environment.

While developing an intranet portal based on Oracle WebCenter Interaction 10gR3 for a customer, developers of idesis GmbH (http://www.idesis.de) have successfully fixed a bug with accessing a bookmarked community page (portal page) url when the user doesn't have a valid portal session in a SSO (Single SignOn) environment yet.

There are 4 different ways to open a community page:

http://<portalurl>/portal/server.pt
http://<portalurl>/portal/server.pt?open=514&objID=12345&mode=2
http://<portalurl>/portal/server.pt?uuID={C8DC1486-F0CF-4DD4-A0A8-753E0D6B2D36}&mode=2
http://<portalurl>/portal/server.pt/community/information_management/1111/information_management

The first address always opens the homepage, so it isn't interesting for us in this case. The second address always works, even in a SSO environment. Address-type 3 and 4 only work if the user already logged on the portal.

You can reproduce the bug doing the following steps:

Configure an WCI 10gR3 portal (or ALUI 6.x) with SSO.
Bookmark a community page.
Open a new browser window and attempt directly access that bookmarked community Url.
Note that you are redirected to your My Page / Homepage (it depends on the configuration of your experience definition)
Now that you're already logged in via SSO, if you paste the community URL again into the address bar then you will properly be directed to the community.

BEA ALUI 6.1 MP1 Patch

Heute Nacht hat BEA einen Patch für ALUI 6.1 MP1 veröffentlicht, der eine ganze Reihe von Fehlern behebt. Der Patch ist auf der BEA Seite zu finden.

BEA ALUI 6.1 MP1 unter Ubuntu 7.04

Ich möchte den blog Eintrag von Chris Bucchere (http://dev2dev.bea.com/blog/bucchere/archive/2007/03/alui_g6_on_ubun.html) als Vorlage nehmen und eine deutschprachige Anleitung geben, wie sich ein BEA Aqualogic User Interaction 6.1 MP1 Portal unter Ubuntu 7.04 installieren und ausführen lässt.

Vorab möchte ich erwähnen, dass der Betrieb von ALUI unter Ubuntu nicht von BEA empfohlen wird und BEA auch keine Unterstützung bei Problemen geben wird.

Als Installationsdateien habe ich die für Redhat Enterprise Linux vorbereiteten Pakete von der BEA Homepage geladen. Bevor ein BEA Installationsprogramm unter Ubuntu 7.04 gestartet werden kann, muss es wie folgt gepatched werden:

cat AquaLogicInteraction_v6-1_MP1.bak | sed "s/export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL/#xport LD_ASSUME_KERNEL/" > AquaLogicInteraction_v6-1_MP1

Nun kann das Installationsprogramm ohne Probleme gestartet werden. Nach der Installation muss noch ein symbolischer Link erzeugt werden, da sonst einige Portalkomponenten eine native Bibliothek nicht finden können:

ln -s /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6.0.7 /usr/lib/libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2

Für meine Umgebung habe ich wie Chris eine Oracle XE Version verwendet. Da die Installationsskripte von BEA versuchen, eine neue Datenbankinstanz (PLUM) anzulegen und dies unter XE nicht möglich ist, müssen die Skripte manuell ausgeführt werden.

Zunächst ist das Skript "create_tables_oracle.sql" zu ändern. Dazu ist diese Datei mit dem vi Editor zu öffnen. Im vi ist folgender Befehl einzugeben:

:1,$s/PLUMINDEX/USERS/g

Damit sind der Referenzen auf die nicht vorhandene Datenbankinstanz entfernt und die Skripte sind ausführbar.

Bevor es losgehen kann ist zunächst der Datenbankuser anzulegen. Wenn die Installation mit den Standardvorgaben durchgeführt wurde, ist folgendes einzugeben:

$sqlplus sys as sysdba
SQL>create user plumtree identified by password
SQL>grant connect, resource, create view to plumtree

Jetzt kann es losgehen:

cd /opt/bea/alui/ptportal/6.1/sql/oracle_unix10

$sqlplus plumtree/password@XE
SQL>@create_tables_oracle.sql
SQL>@load_seed_info_oracle.sql
SQL>@stored_procs_oracle.sql
SQL>@postinst_oracle.sql

Fertig. BEA installiert keine Init-Skripte (/etc/init.d/) automatisch. Hier ist also ggf. noch ein manueller Eingriff nötig.

Ich habe noch Schwierigkeiten mit dem Automation Server. Dieser benötigt eine libthread Bibliothek, die auf meinem System nicht vorhanden ist... Hier hab ich momentan noch keine Lösung parat.

Für das Portal steht unter /opt/bea/alui/common/container/tomcat eine Apache Tomcat 5 Version zur Verfügung, die aber noch konfiguriert werden muss. Ebenso muss ein Apache2 Webserver noch angepasst werden, damit die Imageserver Dateien geladen werden können.

WebDAV Server Bibliothek

Ich habe die Arbeit an meiner WebDAV Bibliothek für ASP.NET wieder aufgenommen. Das Model werde ich in Kürze hier publizieren.

Ziel der Bibliothek ist es, eine WebDAV Server Implementierung für den IIS zu entwickeln, die mit beliebigen Repositories arbeiten kann. Dies soll über einen Plug-In Mechanismus realisiert werden. Als Proof of concept habe ich das Knowledge Directory des BEA ALUI Portals eingebunden und über einen WebDAV Explorer durch die Verzeichnisse navigiert.

BEA ALUI - Portalobjekte eindeutig ermitteln

Im BEA Aqualogic User Interaction Portal können ObjectId und Objectname nicht verwendet werden, um Portalobjekte über mehrere Staging Instanzen (DEV / TEST / PROD) adressieren zu können. Mit Einführung der Version 6 (vorher hieß das Portal im übrigen noch Plumtree Corporate Portal) wurde den Portalobjekten eine weitere Eigenschaft hinzugefügt, die auch nach einem Export und Import auf einem anderen System, oder nach einer Änderung des Objektnamens stabil bleibt: eine Uuid.

Mit diesem Codefragment kann aus der Uuid die ObjectId (und ClassId) eines Portalobjektes ermittelt werden:
